Giving is Receiving, from the teachings of Cynthia Bourgeault

May I wake to the great exchange,
the mercy that circulates
as a field of giving and receiving.
Origin made visible.

May I remember today
that grace falls like dew
while my conscious labor rises—
the loop completing itself.

May I offer what I have
without attachment to outcome,
trusting the hidden principle:
giving is receiving.

May I be humble enough
to meet the now,
to feed and be fed
across all realms.

May I remember
that every emptying joins the dance,
and no surrender stands alone.

Let me live the exchange today—
human to human,
human to divine,
the mercy made manifest.

William Britten
