My personal exploration of Wisdom spirituality.

May 2024

There is a sense that life is like a Parable or a Gospel of Thomas Logion or Desert Saying—these ancient forms that were meant to deliver Wisdom through different levels of meaning and truth. There is the lower level of literal truths where the events and sensations of our daily life in time play out. But there are higher, broader arcs with different meanings and truths. The higher meaning may be paradoxically opposite of the lower meaning. Some of the most catastrophic events of my life have become the most positive events within the broader arc of a longer time. And I suspect there is an even broader arc, entirely outside the dimension of time.

I have had an ongoing aim of “living from Good,” which for me means taking the qualities of “Good” out of time. It feels like I can use elements of Good as a vehicle or a hook to attach myself to a higher realm and loosen the grip of time. Take any example—kindness, gentleness, compassion, trust, forgiveness, generosity, etc—and simply come from that place, regardless of whether it is earned or deserved, or any other time-based, cause-and-effect qualifier, and the chains of this particular manifestation in time begin to fall away. I am simply being kind, generous, or forgiving.

I suppose the simplest, most bottom bedrock statement of what these Teachings are all about is to awaken or clear a space in ourselves to form a relationship of giving and receiving with a higher realm. The Teachings might refer to this as awakening Conscience or Third Force within. Yeshua refers to “standing and turning,” and “reconnecting with Origin.”

Annie Lou Staveley says, “There is no way I can convey my understanding to you. You must come to your own understanding, step by step, jump by jump.” Maurice Nicoll makes a similar statement. He says the lower cannot explain the higher, that “understanding or influence must flow from the higher to the lower, not the other way around.”

And so, my role is to be a curator of these sacred Teachings and to scatter some breadcrumbs along the trail. One skill I may have is seeing patterns, hearing harmonies, and bringing together parts that will help illuminate the whole.

This is the starting place, the beginning. Please explore my writings and impressions, and let me know if it makes sense.

Logion 28
Yeshua says…
I stood to my feet in the midst of the cosmos,
appearing outwardly in flesh.
I discovered that all were drunk
but none were thirsty,
and my soul ached for the children of humanity,
for their hearts are blind.
They cannot see from within.
They have come into the cosmos empty,
and they are leaving it empty.
At the moment you are inebriated,
but when freed from the effects of wine,
you too may turn and stand.

Bill … First of all: Thank You!

I love how you are attempting to integrate these different wisdom streams and “weave” a stronger braid by this dance between them. Bravo! As you know … there’s an abundance of sources surfacing for our time and one can become overwhelmed in an effort to try to capture it all. Far better is to follow your footsteps and begin to build a foundation where things can be integrated as we need them for our own particular wisdom/spiritual journey.

Thanks, also, for the beauty of your images and your accessible way of communicating to us who may not be experts in any area … except that of our own lives … which is the crux of the matter, anyway!

Miss being in group with you and Sarah but certainly feel your presence in our web.

    Bless you both,

    Tom
