the veil of your finitude
is the form through which
the infinite learns to touch,
without consuming.

May the bounded love you offered,
pressed tight within the day’s limits,
have glowed more luminous
for its constriction,
more tender for its smallness.

May the poverty of what you could do
have housed a richness
beyond your seeing.
The Divine learning gentleness
through your finite hands.

May you sleep as the snowflake,
held without melting,
in the hand of God.
