A daily poem from the Wisdom teachings of Valentin Tomberg

Effort and Grace: a Consent Cycle

Orientation

Grace falls like rain on open ground.
Effort is the sash lifted,
the curtain billowing.

Two currents meet—
one rising from below, one descending from above.
Wings unite.

This is your place.

Morning Alignment

I open the window.
I ask.
I seek.
I knock.

My effort.
Your grace.
The day begins.

Evening Release

What rose today, I return.
What fell today, I release.

I rest in the marriage I cannot see.

William Britten
